Capped ADSL
What is Capped ADSL?
Having an ADSL connection means you are permanently connected to the internet.
With a capped ADSL package, you pay for a specified number of gigabytes (GB) each month. You choose a data package based on your requirements.
We have various packages that will meet those needs. If you run out of bandwidth during the month then you can Top Up or upgrade to a higher package.
The ADSL service is delivered over your existing Telkom phone line. The per GB package works with any Telkom line speed, which ranges from 384kbps to 4096kbps. If you have an existing Telkom phone line and need this to be activated for ADSL then WebNow can help with that. We also have bundled offerings which include Telkom Line Rental and a data package of your choice.
What’s the difference between shaped and unshaped ADSL?
We offer two types of bandwidth: shaped and unshaped. So what’s the difference?
- A shaped account gives bandwidth priority to web browsing and email traffic, so it’s perfect for most users.
- An unshaped account gives equal priority to all types of traffic. If you use peer to peer applications, Skype or online games then an unshaped account may be more suitable. You can also use VOIP services on this connection.
How do I choose?
What do you need the internet for? Will you be browsing websites and checking your email? If that’s the extent of your use, then shaped ADSL is perfect for you.
Shaped ADSL Packages
If you use the internet to make Skype or other VOIP calls, play online games or peer to peer downloading, then unshaped ADSL is a better solution for you.
Unshaped ADSL Packages
Included with all Capped ADSL plans:
- 5 POP3 Email accounts of your choice
- Real time usage statistics
- Up to 5 Concurrent Connections
- Top-Up
